Ultra Low Power Device for Mobile Audio and TelephonyThe Cirrus Logic CS42L73 smart audio CODEC is a high-quality, ultra low-power audio CODEC for smart phone applications that allows these power-hungry devices to conserve energy and extend battery life by offloading audio-related tasks typically reserved for the applications processor. The CS42L73 features three serial audio ports and asynchronous sample rate converters, allowing this smart audio CODEC to manage the complex routing, processing, and mixing of a variety of multiformat audio signals while increasing overall system efficiency. This Cirrus Logic device has a rated power consumption as low as 4 mW during a voice call, the lowest power consumption of a product with asynchronous sample-rate converters and a digital mixing engine in the signal path.
